Fabrication

Our pieces start where all good things do, on country. Outback Linen uses only 100% natural fibres, custom-dyed to echo the colours of this land: the burnt spinifex, the desert dusk, the storm rolling in.

Every thread is crafted with intention. From ethically-sourced flax to premium, chemical-free processes that respect both skin and soil. Our linen breathes with you, moves with you, and softens over time like a favourite story.

This isn’t fast fashion. This is clothing built to go the distance… through muddy paddocks, city streets, long drives, and lazy Sundays. We make pieces that last, because you deserve a wardrobe that does too.

When you wear Outback Linen, you’re not just putting on a shirt or a dress, you’re stepping into something bigger: thoughtful design, slow style, and the kind of quality that feels like home.

Care Instructions

Good linen is strong, low-fuss, and better with time. But give her a little TLC, and she’ll love you forever.

Here’s how to keep your Outback Linen looking and feeling like new:

  1. Wash with kindness. Cold, gentle cycle or hand wash. No harsh stuff. Your linen’s already tough, she doesn’t need bleach.
  2. Dry it soft. Flat in the shade is best, or hang it up where the sun won’t steal her colour. If you must tumble, low and slow wins the race.
  3. Steam or press. A quick iron on low while it’s still a touch damp creates crisp lines, no fuss.
  4. Store smart. Fold it up, keep it cool and out of the sun. Linen loves breathing room.

Linen will naturally crease, we call that character. But if you ever want it polished, a light press does the trick. Just don’t stress. This fabric was made to live in.

Sustainability Information

At Outback Linen, sustainability isn’t a feature. It’s the whole foundation.

We believe in slower fashion, community-powered choices, and clothing that actually means something. Every piece we make is rooted in respect… for the land, the hands that craft it, and the women who wear it.

Our 100% organic linen is biodegradable, breathable, and made without nasty chemicals. We manufacture in trusted, long-term partnerships with ethical makers in India and China, chosen for their craftsmanship and commitment to fair working conditions. This is conscious fashion, minus the fluff.

But we don’t stop there. We create jobs in rural communities, prioritise longevity over landfill, and pour our energy into designing clothes that you’ll wear on repeat, not just once.

This isn’t performative sustainability. It’s real. It’s gritty. And it’s guided by a deep belief that better fashion is possible, and you deserve to be part of it.
